Traineeships

Hunter Community Alliance offers internship placements in a Community Organiser Traineeship.

The traineeship program includes:

• the 16 hour Community Organising Foundations training program

• weekly supervision and mentoring from the HCA Organiser, and leaders of partner organisations

• real engagement in, and contributions to, social change through observation, participation, and leadership

• leadership development

• participation in research, action planning, negotiations

• building relationships with community and organisation leaders

• Typically eight hours per week of participation over four to six months

Trainees are typically accepted from postgraduate studies placements, but expressions of interest will be considered. Partner organisations that are interested in seconding young staff members to a traineeship are encouraged to contact their organiser.
